Stanislaus National Forest Temporary Closure
Due to very high fire danger, all the National Forests in California are closed until September 17.
The closure was lifted September 15th! As a reminder, please be careful of parking or driving your car or ATV in tall, dry, vegetation, such as grass.
How does this affect the Westside Trail?
At about 1.2 miles, the Westside Trail enters the MiWok Ranger District of the Stanislaus National forest. This is a point past the two picnic tables and before where Forest Road 2N09 crosses the trail. There is a vertical trail sign post that marks the entry to the MiWok Ranger District.
Please honor this closure! This trail is below Miramonte Road where many people live. Beyond Miramonte are many more homes including all those along Tuolumne Road North. Ponderosa Hills and Mount Provo are up 2N09. For the same reasons, please be careful with anything that could cause a fire anywhere on the trail.
There are no known closures on the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land. A closure there would make the trail very limited.
